The Silver Haired Legislature was formed to help Elders advocate with Elected Officials on Legislation that impacts Seniors.
SHL'S are Seniors, that are elected by their peers and in some cases supported by the Local Area Agency on Aging, Title VI American Indian Programs & the Older Americans Act.
SHL'S work closely with area elected Legislators and others to advocate for changes in Legislation to improve conditions for the aged.
This Web Site was established so SHL'S and others would have a central location, on-line, to locate other SHL'S through e-mail, network, set priorities, get up-dates and learn what is working in all parts of the Nation.
I have used my own time and money to set up this Web Site, for you! This was my way of helping out and saying Thank You!!, for all that you do for Elders.
If your local SHL group has information to post, please let me know. Make sure you give me some lead time before the event, as I will not have time to up-date the Site daily, and therefore, there may be some lag time before I can get the information added to the Site.
The plan is to have information that pertains to both State and National Schedules.
